Last week the Derby Telegraph published findings from the University of Derby’s annual research into the best businesses throughout Derbyshire. A1 Comms are proud to have jumped over 10 places to find themselves at number 54 on the list, behind the likes of Rolls-Royce and Toyota.
What is Derbyshire’s Top 200?
Founded in 2017, it was only last year that the Derby Telegraph launched the first every Derby Top 200. The list was designed to highlight and celebrate successful businesses that are thriving in the Derbyshire area.
Those that make it on to the elite list are the biggest contributors to the local economy; the most innovative companies who are working to drive the area forward and help it to prosper. Businesses included in the list are also those which work hard to create and support local people through the creation of new jobs.
Led by the Derby Telegraph, the initiative is based on research conducted by the University of Derby and sponsored by Champions UK plc. As part of the Top 200 announcement, the Derby Telegraph hosted a breakfast event with a number of impressive speakers, including the likes of Professor Kathryn Mitchell of the University of Derby.
Derbyshire and Business
Derbyshire has a long history with industry and has been home to many successful brands over the years. Long associated with manufacturing, the area is now producing businesses in a range of sectors. Thanks to its major cities and renowned universities, in recent years Derbyshire has also welcomed a wealth of companies relocating to the area to grow their brand. So, to feature on this list when there is so many incredible businesses around is no mean feat!
What does it mean for A1 Comms?
The second ever Top 200 was just as positive as the previous year, if not more, proving just how many world-class companies Derbyshire is proud to be home to. Whilst many businesses maintained their position, at A1 Comms we are proud to have jumped a massive 11 places.
Businesses to have made it on to the list this year have been particularly praised for their ability to continue to thrive against a turbulent and often challenging political backdrop. With the Derby Telegraph even applauding this year’s businesses, such as A1 Comms, for what they called “getting on with the job in hand and excelling”.
This recognition from the likes of the University of Derby confirms that all the hard work at A1 Comms has not gone unnoticed. It is this sort of accolade which motivates and propels us to succeed more, and with this impressive ranking under our belt we are looking forward to a bright future ahead.
What does the future look like?
At A1 Comms we are dedicated to progress and innovation. Inspired by our fellow Derbyshire based businesses on this year’s Top 200 list we will strive to continue to develop our business and climb through the ranks of this prestigious table.
For now, we are grateful for the hard work that has gone in behind the scenes by every single member of the A1 Comms team to make such a progression possible.
